I’ve received such great feedback from my grocery hauls that I post on IG so I decided to dedicate today’s blog post to weight loss-friendly foods from Trader Joe’s that you can get ANYWHERE!
Trader Joe’s is a grocery store in the U.S. known for its unique healthy foods. Lots of fun options for pretty much anything without being crazy expensive.
You can find great weight loss-friendly foods at any grocery store so today’s post is for YOU, regardless of where you shop!
Let’s get into it!
So underrated. Corn is a whole grain and most tortillas are around 50 calories per one tortilla.
Perfect for taco night and great to have on hand when you need a quick & easy meal idea!
A great protein option for anyone but especially if you’re vegetarian. Buy them shelled, and both ready to eat or frozen varieties work fine.
You can add edamame to your salad, stir-fries, or eat them warmed up on their own, they taste delicious!
A few weeks back I did a post on how to select a weight-loss-friendly flavored yogurt. If you missed that article, you can read it here.
There are tons of great flavored yogurt options available nowadays that are high in protein and low in added sugar.
Never underestimate the power of seasonings like onion salt. It’s one of my faves that I love to add to ground turkey, chicken, and my vegetables. Packs on that flavor!
Adding salsa to your food is one of the best ways to add flavor without adding calories!
Salsa is considered a vegetable in the world of nutrition and with only 5 calories per 1 tbsp, you can enjoy a good portion of it! I love adding salsa to my tacos but I also like to add it to simple meals like brown rice, ground turkey, and veggies.
Great way to add in flavor!
Whole wheat pasta!
Pasta is a fave in our household. So easy and fun to make, so many different flavors and varieties out there! It’s a must-have simple option to keep on hand for those busy weeks.
I try my best to buy whole wheat as much as possible. Whole wheat is a type of whole grain which we love for its fiber, vitamins & minerals.
Last but not least, popcorn!
You can buy popcorn already popped or in bags so you can pop them yourself at home. Popcorn is another whole grain that is generally lower in calories. 3.5 cups of popcorn = 140 calories!
This is a nice light snack to have when you’re craving something salty at night.
Remember, all foods are acceptable while trying to losing weight. Nothing should ever be off-limits. Enjoy what you love in the right portion size while optimizing vegetable & protein intake!
