Healthy Travel Snacks!

I’m excited about this one! Maybe you’ve traveled this year already or are planning to travel during the holidays.

Finding healthy options to eat when you’re on the road can be difficult to do since nutrition isn’t the biggest priority for food vendors or vending machines.

I would recommend packing your snacks with you while you’re on the road, that way you don’t have to worry about healthy options.

I have lots of great ideas for you, so let’s get to it! Disclosure- there are some affiliate links below and I may receive commissions for purchases made through links in this post, but these are all products I highly recommend. I wouldn’t put anything on this page that I have not verified and/or personally used.

Protein powder– nothing that fancy about it but it’s SO convenient and the best when looking at calorie to protein ratio. You can take protein powder with you in a Ziploc bag and just mix in water for an easy 25-30 grams of protein to keep you full and help you meet those high protein needs!

Gold standard double chocolate whey protein has been a favorite of mine for years. I now enjoy Beast chocolate protein powder. It’s great in shakes, smoothies, or baked goods. If you want to try Beast, feel free to use my discount code: Ravleen15. If chocolate is sold out, wait for it, it’s well worth it, especially in coffee protein shakes!

Fruit– easy to pack and eat on the go. My favorites to take are bananas, mandarin oranges, and apples. Low maintenance, do not require refrigeration, and easy.

Oatmeal cups– such a great hotel breakfast idea. All you need is to add hot water to your oatmeal cup and you have a healthy breakfast ready in a few minutes.

I love Bob’s Red Mill brown sugar and maple with flax & chia. I also found a really good steel cut original oatmeal cup.

Peanut butter squeeze packsI really love these individually wrapped peanut butter packs. Squeeze it on fruit or mix it into your oatmeal cup. A convenient way to get in some protein, healthy fats, and that amazing PB flavor!

Veggie chips– this is my biggest obsession lately! I recently discovered these when I was going on a road trip with my husband and couldn’t pack vegetables but wanted to have a healthy nutrient-dense option available.

The ones I love are Brad’s veggie chips. The ingredients are amazing! I’ve tried three flavors and red bell pepper is definitely the best. Proceed with caution with the kale flavor- not good at all in my opinion. And remember, these are a “healthy” chip, so they’ll taste like a “healthy” chip.

Protein bars– because sometimes you can’t have a protein shake and because sometimes you want to eat something solid. For calorie to protein ratio and keeping ingredient list in mind, there isn’t one great protein bar out there.

But if I was to have one, I’d look for minimal ingredients and keep taste into consideration, such as this one.

Chocolate– if you have a sweet tooth like me and can’t go a day without chocolate, I have you covered with these skinny dipped almonds. 1 oz (16 almonds) are only 130 calories!

Lots of healthy options that will help you stay on track during your weight loss journey, even while traveling.

Safe travels!
