High Protein Foods

Meeting protein needs in a calorie deficit is single-handedly the hardest thing for most people to achieve during their weight loss journey.

We talked about how protein is the most important macronutrient for fat loss a few weeks ago.

The reason why protein needs are so high as one is losing weight is to optimize for fat loss while preserving lean body muscle mass.

Since I always receive questions about high protein food sources, I figured throwing together a list of high protein foods with grams of protein per portion would be helpful!

The average grams of protein below are measured for raw foods.

And remember, protein needs are extremely individualized.

Following generic numbers might not be what you need to succeed long-term.
